Traffic Restrictions in Akihabara for Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Marathon
On September 14th (Sunday) and 15th (Monday, holiday), 2025, traffic restrictions will be in place in central Tokyo, including the Akihabara area, due to the marathon event of the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships.
Restriction Details
Chuo Dori in Akihabara will serve as part of the marathon course, turning back at the intersection with Kanda Myojin Dori. Therefore, vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited during the following times:
- September 14th (Sun): 7:10 AM - 10:25 AM
- September 15th (Mon, Holiday): 7:10 AM - 10:10 AM
Please follow detour instructions during the restricted hours.
Impact of Restrictions
- The Chuo Dori pedestrian paradise scheduled for September 14th (Sun) will be canceled.
- During the traffic restriction period, the Toei Bus "Cha 51" route (between Akihabara Station and Ochanomizu Station) and the Chiyoda Ward community bus "Fuguruma" will be suspended.
