Nagoya Matsuzakaya April 2026 Kimono Events Guide

Nagoya Matsuzakaya, located at 3-16-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya, will host a variety of kimono-related events in April 2026, offering a chance to experience the charm of Japanese traditional wear with the arrival of spring.

April Kimono Event Lineup

Nagamochiya "Monthly Market"

From April 1st (Wed) to 3rd (Fri), the "Monthly Market" will be held at Nagamochiya, a kimono reuse shop on the 6th floor of the Main Building, featuring a wide selection of reasonably priced used kimonos and obi.

Shinnosuke Akimoto (Shin) Exhibition "LIFE IS A GIFT"

From April 1st (Wed) to 7th (Tue), the GENTA THE STAGE on the 1st floor of the North Building will showcase an exhibition by Art Brut artist Shin. His works, characterized by intuitive colors and vibrant life, offer comfort and hope to viewers. A live painting event is also scheduled for April 4th (Sat).

Edo Style: Chikusen & Hamana Takatora

From April 15th (Wed) to 21st (Tue), GENTA THE STAGE on the 1st floor of the North Building will feature an event showcasing "Chikusen" yukata fabrics and Edo Komon kimonos made with techniques passed down from the Edo period, alongside stylish small accessories from "Hamana Takatora."

Children's Kimono New Collection 2026' & Parent-Child Yukata Custom Order Fair

From April 15th (Wed) to May 12th (Tue), the 6th floor of the Main Building's Children's Kimono section will display the new collection for children's kimonos and host a yukata custom order fair for parents and children. A studio photo session ticket will be presented to those who spend ¥330,000 or more (tax included) during the period.
