Tsuruma Park Greenery Center in Nagoya hosts various free exhibitions throughout September 2026, showcasing student designs, children's art, dragonflies, and natural crafts.
From September 1st (Tuesday) to September 30th (Wednesday), 2026, Tsuruma Park's Nagoya City Greenery Center on the 1st floor, located at Tsurumai 1, Showa-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, will host its "September Exhibitions." This event features a diverse range of displays, including design projects by graduate students from Nagoya Institute of Technology, artworks by children who have experienced pediatric cancer, an exhibit on the dragonflies inhabiting Tsuruma Park, and creations made from local tree nuts and acorns. All exhibitions are free to enter throughout the period, offering visitors a variety of learning and discovery opportunities tailored to their interests.
Throughout the exhibition period, different themed displays will be presented consecutively. Kicking off the month, the "Nagoya Institute of Technology Graduate School Practical Design Project Exhibition" will be held from August 18th (Tuesday) to September 2nd (Wednesday). This exhibition showcases materials from practical design projects undertaken by students of the Department of Architecture and Design at Nagoya Institute of Technology Graduate School, who utilized Tsuruma Park as a learning environment. Visitors can explore their innovative ideas and design concepts.
Following this, from September 12th (Saturday) to September 13th (Sunday), the "Children's Expression Exhibition" will take place. Organized by the NPO Aichi Pediatric Cancer Association, this exhibition invites works from children who have experienced pediatric cancer, gathering diverse pieces that express their unique perspectives on the world. It promises to be a moving and valuable exhibition filled with the rich sensibilities and messages of the children.
From September 13th (Sunday) to September 20th (Sunday), the "Learn About Dragonflies in Tsuruma Park" exhibition will be presented. Curated by Sota Asano, this display will feature various aspects of dragonflies found in Tsuruma Park, including different species, their habitats, shed dragonfly nymph exoskeletons, and photographs of invasive species affecting them. Visitors can deepen their understanding of dragonfly ecology and enjoy coloring activities, making it an excellent opportunity for all ages to connect with nature.
Lastly, from September 22nd (Tuesday, Holiday) to October 12th (Monday, Holiday), the "Variety of Tree Nuts and Acorns" exhibition will be held. Organized by the Greenery Center itself, this exhibition showcases artworks created using acorns and various tree nuts observed within the park. Informative panels explaining different tree nuts will also be on display, allowing visitors to learn about the diversity of natural materials in the park and their potential uses in a fun and engaging way.
