The "Great Insect Exhibition in Tokyo Skytree Town® Insects are Friends! Life in Japan" is set to be held at Tokyo Solamachi, located within Tokyo Skytree Town®.

Experience the World of Insects

The exhibition aims to foster interest in various insects by allowing children to "see, touch, and learn." Visitors can interact with rhinoceros beetles in the "Fureai no Mori" (Interaction Forest) and observe live specimens of popular insects like the Hercules beetle. A significant highlight is the "Masami Uemura Collection," rescued specimens from flood damage, making their Tokyo debut from the Kyushu University Museum. The event also showcases the importance of silkworms in Japan's industrial history, along with fascinating displays of giant ants (Paraponera clavata) and exotic cockroaches from around the world.

Educational Workshops and Activities

To further engage visitors, the exhibition includes numerous hands-on activities such as specimen classes, craft workshops, and other events that can be beneficial for summer research projects. These interactive sessions are designed for both children and adults to enjoy and learn together, offering a comprehensive exploration of the insect world.
