Canal City Hakata Strengthens Cashless Payment Options with Introduction of Code Payment Services
Canal City Hakata is enhancing its cashless payment convenience by expanding the acceptance of smartphone-based QR code/barcode payment services and electronic money starting from April 1, 2026.
Currently, major code payment services such as PayPay, d払い, Rakuten Pay, au PAY, Merpay, LINE Pay, Smart Code, QUO Card Pay, WeChat Pay, UnionPay, and Alipay are available. Additionally, electronic money like WAON, iD, QUICPay, and Rakuten Edy, as well as transportation IC cards including nimoca, SUGOCA, Hayakaken, ICOCA, tolca, manaca, Suica, PASMO, and Kitaca (excluding PiTaPa), are now accepted.
This expansion allows for smoother and more diverse payment options for shopping and dining.
Please note that accepted payment methods may vary at Canal City Opa, large stores, and other specialty shops, so please inquire at each store for details. Furthermore, hotels, movie theaters, performance halls, and parking facilities are not included in the domestic code payment service.
