On July 20, 2026, the "Science Stage of Glory" will be held at Miraikan in Odaiba, featuring lectures by ROIS award-winning young researchers and a guided tour of the museum. Online streaming available.
On July 20, 2026, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba will host the "Science Stage of Glory," an awards ceremony and commemorative lecture by the Research Organization of Information and Systems (ROIS). This event celebrates outstanding young researchers from ROIS, aiming to share the excitement and grandeur of cutting-edge science with the public.
Insights from Leading Young Scientists
The "Science Stage of Glory" will feature five distinguished young researchers who have made significant contributions. These include two researchers from the National Institute for Fusion Science and the National Institute for Basic Biology, along with three researchers who conducted collaborative research at the National Astronomical Observatory, the National Institute for Physiological Sciences, and the Institute for Molecular Science. Each awardee will present their research in concise 20-minute talks, making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging for a diverse audience. Topics will span from the formation of stars and planets to fusion energy, plant cell mechanisms, and the surprising aspects of pharmaceuticals.
Explore Miraikan with the Researchers
A new initiative, "Explore Miraikan with the Researchers," will follow the lecture sessions. Award-winning researchers will guide participants through relevant exhibits within Miraikan, connecting the museum's displays to their own cutting-edge work. This unique opportunity allows attendees to trace the "why" behind scientific inquiry and understand how fundamental questions lead to groundbreaking discoveries. Participants in this guided tour will also receive a complimentary ticket to Miraikan's permanent exhibition.
Participation Options: On-site and Online
Attendance at the venue is free but requires advance registration, with limited spots available on a first-come, first-served basis for the main lectures and a separate lottery-based registration for the guided tour. For those unable to attend in person, the lectures will be streamed live on YouTube LIVE and Niconico Live Broadcasting. Archived videos will also be made available on the ROIS official YouTube channel for later viewing, allowing a broader audience to engage with the presented science.
