たんけんしよう! あなたの知らない “みんなで決める” 世界 ~「『この国』と『あの国』」のゲームを体験しよう!

The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba will host "Let's Explore! The World We Decide Together ~ Experience the Game 'This Country' and 'That Country'" on Sunday, July 26, 2026. This event aims to explore better ways of making decisions collectively, especially among people with diverse backgrounds.

Event Overview and Content

The event focuses on the act of "collective decision-making" through games and workshops. In the first half, Professor Mami Yamaguchi from Chuo University will discuss the innate human tendency to categorize things. Following this, participants will engage in the game "This Country' and 'That Country,'" designed by Associate Professor Kei Nishiyama of KaiChi University of Education. In this game, participants will divide into two teams and practice the process of making decisions together.

The latter half of the event features a workshop where participants can freely share their thoughts and feelings from the game. Professor Tetsuya Kono from Rikkyo University will also join, facilitating deeper understanding and reflection through dialogue with researchers and other attendees. Using a method called "philosophical dialogue," researchers and science communicators will create a welcoming atmosphere, making it accessible even for those who are not comfortable with conversation or for children. This event is part of the "Exploring the Wonderful World from a Child's Perspective" project, located within Miraikan's research area.
