STILL/LIFE Exhibition at Shibuya Hikarie, July 4-20, 2026

The exhibition "STILL/LIFE" will be held at Shibuya Hikarie from July 4th to July 20th, 2026. This exhibition focuses on the profound moments of silence that lead to contemplation on the meaning and essence of life, showcasing the work of seven female photographers who translate these deep questions into photographic art. The featured artists include Yuki Shimizu, Anna SCRIppcaliu Ochiai, Nozomi Suzuki, Yuki Atsutoyama, Nao Nakai, Mayumi Hosokura, and Tamaki Yoshida. Their works explore the intersection of "LIFE" and "STILLNESS," with the lingering silence in their art suggesting the possibility of "living" even amidst solitude and hardship.

This exhibition is held concurrently with the Bunkamura-organized museum exhibition "Miracles of the Gaze: Adventures of Japanese Women Photographers," running from July 4th to August 26th, 2026, which highlights the journeys of Japanese women photographers.

On the opening day, July 4th, a free talk event titled "The Work of a Gallerist" will take place from 16:00 to 17:00 at Shibuya Hikarie 8/ COURT, adjacent to Bunkamura Gallery 8/. Gallerists Katsuya Ishida (MEM) and Chika Aya (The Third Gallery Aya), who have promoted Japanese photography internationally, will share insights into their work and perspectives. The talk will be moderated by Masako Sato of Contact Inc. No prior reservation is required for this event.
